The Radius is only used to determine the size of the array which will hold the calculated Gaussian distribution
The Sigma value determines the actual amount of blurring that will take place.
Set the angle the object appears to be coming from (zero degrees is from the right).

What is image blurring?
  • The `blur` operation is used to apply a blur effect to an image. This operation can be useful for creating a soft focus effect, or for reducing noise or detail in an image.
  • The `blur` operation requires you to specify a radius and a sigma. The radius determines the size of the area that the blur is applied to, and the sigma determines the standard deviation of the Gaussian, in pixels, for the blur operation.
  • Please note that the `blur` operation can significantly alter the appearance of an image, so it's a good idea to experiment with different settings to find the one that gives you the best results.
What are the uses of image blurring?
  • The `blur` operation has several uses:
  • Image Enhancement: The primary use of the `blur` operation is to soften an image or to reduce detail or noise. This can be useful for creating a specific aesthetic effect, or for making an image more pleasing to the eye.
  • Background Defocus: The `blur` operation can be used to defocus the background of an image, drawing attention to the subject in the foreground. This is a common technique in portrait photography.
  • Image Processing: The `blur` operation can be part of a larger image processing pipeline. For example, you might blur an image before applying other operations such as resizing, cropping, or contrast adjustments.
  • Automating Image Editing: If you have a batch of images that you want to blur in the same way, you can use the `blur` operation in a script to automate the process.
  • Creating Thumbnails or Previews: The `blur` operation can be used to create blurred thumbnails or previews of images. For example, a photo sharing website might use the `blur` operation to create blurred previews of photos.
