How to quantize colors in images online?
Add all files you want to quantize by drag and drop or click to select files.
Adjust the number of colors, dithering method, and tree depth.
Click on Quantize button to process and download the files.
You can click on reset button if you want to process new files.
What is color quantization?
Color quantization reduces the number of distinct colors in an image. This creates a posterize-like effect where smooth gradients become flat color areas.
It's useful for creating artistic effects, reducing file sizes, or preparing images for limited-color displays.
What is dithering?
Dithering simulates missing colors by mixing nearby colors in patterns. Floyd-Steinberg is the most common and produces smooth results.
Riemersma dithering uses a different algorithm that can work better for some images. No dithering gives sharp color boundaries.
